To say our registered Maine guides take their fishing seriously would be an understatement! Our guides live and breath the woods and waters of Maine. Our guides have a wealth of experience and knowledge. Dan Thrall, head fishing guide,  spends countless hours on the water observing fish and insect behavior.  All of the flies we use are hand tied and designed by Dan. We have the patience to handle the beiginner and the experience to entertain the well seasoned angler.  We take fishing seriously!  Therefore, serious inquiries only. Breath taking scenery and ambiance are unavoidable in this mountainous region.  It comes with the territory and it's free, You're here to hire a fishing guide who specializes in tight lines not scenic boat rides!

The Androscoggin River
The upper Androscoggin refers to the stretch of river flowing from it's origin in Errol, NH to Rumford, ME. Most of our fishing on this river is focused on the section from the New Hampshire border in Shelburn to our home location of Bethel, ME. This stretch of river contains healthy populations of Brown, Rainbow and  Brook trout. The Upper Andro also receives annual stockings of all three trout species and landlocked salmon, through the efforts of both NH Fish and Game and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.  The Upper Andro offers to the fisherman several miles of runs, riffles, shallow and deep slower pools. The Andro is a wide river offering little shelter to mid day feeding trout and therefore the fish tend to be concentrated in small, hard to locate pockets of water.  Drift boat and wading trip options are available on this river. However, let it be noted that we use our drift boat as a tool to navigate to productive waters. We  may frequently exit the boat and wade in order to present our offerings to the fish in the most effective manner.
Magalloway River flyfishing
The Magalloway River is one of our favorite trips to offer. This outing offers the angler a full day of fishing for native trophy Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon.  We fish on the one mile section of river between Parmachenee Lake and Aziscohos Lake, as well as the several mile section below Aziscohos Dam.  The Magalloway is a narrow river with swift flows, offering the angler miles of productive pocket water along with a few deeper pools.  This river starts fishing well as soon as the ice starts to recede, which signals the beginning of the annual smelt runs. This is a great time for an angler to target Brook Trout and Salmon in the 15"+ class.  We also offer night time trips to this river for the extreem angler who likes to fish "outside of the box".  Over the past couple of years we have discovered a technique to consistently target large Brook Trout at night, which is in our opinion, the best way to hook up with trophy square tails! Our number one night time fly and fishing method is.............call for more info!
Rapid River flyfishing
The reputation of the world famous Rapid River in Maine speaks for itself.  Native trophy Brook Trout and Salmon are the name of the game. Here, anglers can put their nymphing skills to the test on 3.2 miles of pocket water and deep pools in the company of one of our registered Maine Guides.  Good fishing here begins around ice out and peaks from mid May to late June.

Custom tied flies

We primarily use "imitation" patterns not "stimulator" patterns. We pride ourselves in our ability to identify most of the hatches on our home waters. Journals kept over the years also allow us the ability to anticipate many of these occurrences, putting our clients on the water, on the right day at the right time! All of the flies used on our trips are hand tied and designed to match on going hatches of significance.
Clients who wish to purchase custom tied patterns used during their trip may do so by placing an order at the end of their trip.

To other fishermen visiting the area for a self-guided experience! Call ahead to order flies specific to the waters and time of year you will be fishing!
